A pavement reconstruction of U.S. 281/K-4 from North Center Street to North Main Street in Hoisington will begin around March 31, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
There will be new concrete pavement throughout the section.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the construction zone.
The intent is to start with the north portion of the project once the traffic control is established, then do the south portion and then the middle portion, to allow for continuing traffic flow.
The project should be complete by the end of August, weather permitting.
Morgan Brothers Construction, of La Crosse, is the primary contractor on the $1.5 million project.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones.
