Big 12 Record Eight Teams Selected to 2025 NCAA Baseball Championship

The Big 12 tied the Conference’s record with eight league baseball programs selected to the 2025 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. The 2009 season is the only other season in which the Conference received eight bids to the national tournament. NCAA Regionals play begins on Friday, May 30 in a double-elimination format.

It is the fourth consecutive season and the 22nd time in 28 seasons that the league earned five or more bids.

Arizona (39-18) secured the Big 12’s automatic bid to the field after winning the 2025 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship. The Wildcats will take on Cal Poly (41-17) at 3 p.m. CT/1 p.m. MST on ESPN+ Friday in the opening game of the Eugene Regional. No. 12 national seed Oregon (42-14) and Utah Valley (32-27) complete the field.

Arizona State (35-22) will travel to the Los Angeles Regional and play UC Irvine (41-15) at 8 p.m. CT/6 p.m. MST on ESPNU on Friday night. No. 12 national seed UCLA (42-16) and Fresno State (31-27) await the teams in the second game of the regional.

Cincinnati (32-24) makes its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2019 and its first at-large berth since the 1974 season. The Bearcats will open the Knoxville Regional on Friday at 1 p.m. ET/Noon CT on ESPN+ against Wake Forest (36-20). The regional is rounded out with the No. 14 national seed Tennessee (43-16) and Miami (Ohio) (35-21).

Kansas (43-15) makes its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2014 and will face Creighton (41-14) at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN+ Friday. The Jayhawks face No. 3 national seed Arkansas (43-13) or North Dakota State (20-32) in the second game of the Fayetteville Regional.

Kansas State (31-24) earned its sixth NCAA Tournament selection in program history, marking its first time earning back-to-back selections since 2010-11. The Wildcats will conclude the first day of the Austin Regional with a game against UTSA (44-13) at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN+. No. 2 national seed Texas (42-14) and Houston Christian (32-23) complete the four-team field.

Oklahoma State (28-23) extended its NCAA Regional streak with its 12th consecutive selection. The Cowboys will play Duke (37-19) on Friday at 5 p.m. CT on ESPNU. The Athens Regional will also consist of No. 7 national seed Georgia (42-15) and Binghamton (29-24).

TCU (39-18) is back in the NCAA Tournament for the 18th time in the last 21 seasons. The Horned Frogs will start their postseason with a matchup against Southern California (35-21) at 2 p.m. CT on ESPNU. The host and No. 8 national seed, Oregon State (41-12-1), along with Saint Mary’s (CA) (35-24) complete the regional.

After clinching its first outright Big 12 regular season title in program history, West Virginia (41-14) secured its third consecutive NCAA Regional selection. The Mountaineers will take the field against Kentucky (29-24) at Noon ET/11 a.m. CT on Friday (ESPNU). No. 11 national seed Clemson (44-16) and USC Upstate (36-23) await the teams in the Clemson Regional.

The Big 12 has sent at least one team to eight of the last nine Men’s College World Series. All games of the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship are available on the ESPN family of networks.
