The Kansas Department of Transportation plans to begin a bridge replacement project in Pawnee County on or around Oct. 29, conditions permitting.
Crews will replace the bridge spanning Ash Creek on R Road between Larned and Pawnee Rock.
The road will be closed to thru traffic between 80th and 90th Avenue during the project.
Work will occur Monday through Friday during daylight hours.
L & M Contractors, Inc, of Great Bend, is the prime contractor on the nearly $530,000 project, which is expected to be completed by the end of Spring 2027.
