The Kansas Highway Patrol, Kansas Department of Transportation and local law enforcement agencies have launched a summer-long traffic enforcement initiative entitled “Operation Zero,” aimed at reducing fatal crashes on Kansas roadways. The campaign employs a zero-tolerance approach toward speeding, unrestrained vehicle occupants, aggressive driving and impaired driving. Motorists stopped for violations during the enforcement period can expect to receive citations or face arrest, depending on the severity of the offense. Operation Zero enforcement efforts will continue throughout August.
