Barton's Williams does it again, and again, and again

For the second consecutive week, Barton Community College track and field's Cedricka Williams' record breaking performance earns the weekly conference and national Field Athlete honors.

Williams' fifth career national award distributed by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) joins her second consecutive KJCCC distinction following her performance at the Rock Chalk Classic in Lawrence, Kansas.

Two weeks ago, Williams reset her national discus record then this past weekend in Lawrence, the sophomore exceeded her best by over a foot on her fourth attempt to remark the NJCAA's all-time distance at 59.89m (196-06) in placing 4th overall against a stacked field.

Overall, this is the sixth time in her career and the third time this season that Williams has tied or set the NJCAA all-time record.

Williams' second consecutive USTFCCCA week outdoor honor and fifth overall becomes the 13th for the women's program, joined by Jazmine Williamson (2024), Kelsie Murrell-Ross (2022), Nia Robinson (2021 and 2022), Lashanna Grahm (2021), Yoveinny Mota (twice in 2019) and Lydia Mato (2015).

Williams, along with the rest of the women and men's programs, now embark on the outdoor post-season beginning today in Coffeyville for the three-day KJCCC/Region 6 Championships followed by the National Championships held May 15-17 in Hutchinson.
