Congratulations to the Ellinwood Girls Cross Country Team, taking 9th in the state. The girls jumped out in front of Marion and Oakley early. They put away Hillsboro in the last 1/3 of the race as they jumped up 22 places in the last mile. Eleanor Joiner led the way with a 4th-place, All-State finish. The girls all ran great races, with Eleanor Joiner , Clarisse Masset, and Karah Porter getting PRs again this week, and Jenna Borror, Ali Gonzalez, Madison Dombroski , and Leah Steffan all running their best Wamego times ever.
Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country Team, also taking 9th. The boys got out quickly to jump in front of Trego, Solomon, and Berean Academy and held them off late in the race. Ryan Pohlman led the way with his 19th-place, All-State finish. Ryan Pohlman and Caleb Herrman also hit PRs again this week. The boys all ran tough with Shae Hoskins, Ethan Robl, and Josh Zook clocking their best Wamego times and Joe Brauer seconds off of his.
