Gwyn Eileen Boepple, 78, passed away February 11, 2025, at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington, Kansas. She was born January 24, 1947, in Junction City, to Clay and Geraldine (Edwards) Moreland. Gwyn married Harold Edward Boepple June 19, 1966, in Hoxie. He passed away September 19, 2011.
Gwyn worked as a med-aide for Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood then obtained her license and became owner and operator of G & H Insurance in 1992. She lived in Ellinwood from 1966 to 2012 when she then moved to the Great Bend area.
Gwyn had a gift of music and served as a pianist and organist for St. John Lutheran, Ellinwood Calvary Baptist, Grace Community Church, and CrossPoint where she was a member. For a season, Gwyn put her culinary skills to work by providing Wednesday night meals. She loved getting together with friends and playing pitch, pinochle, or canasta. Gwyn loved to travel and especially enjoyed sailing the waters on cruises.
Survivors include sons, Clay Boepple and his wife Kristine of Great Bend, Harold "Eddie" Boepple of Great Bend; daughter, Lisa Taylor and her husband Bruce of Claflin; grandchildren, Rachelle Zamarripa, Ryan Taylor (Nicole), Brandon Taylor (Alexis), Hannah Boepple, and Laura Boepple; great grandchildren, A.J. Zamarripa, Gabriel Zamarripa, Benjamin Zamarripa, Colton Taylor, Ian Taylor, Spencer Taylor. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Harold Edward Boepple; and brother, Melvin Moreland.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., February 21, 2025, at CrossPoint with Pastor Scott Murphy and Pastor Cecil Dale presiding. Interment will follow at Lakin Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Bryant Funeral Home with family receiving guests from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Memorials have been designated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tunnels to Towers Foundation, or CrossPoint, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
