The Larned Indians have decided to end the season on a high note, and forfeit their upcoming week 9 game against the Andale Indians. Larned defeated Nickerson on Friday by a final of 14-8, earning a spot in the 3A playoffs as the 16-seed in the West, scheduled to play top-seeded Andale, who has won the state title the last two years and six of the last seven.
With the forfeit, Andale will officially be granted a 1-0 win over Larned and advance to the week 10 game against the winner of Pratt and Cheney. Larned will end the season at 1-8, with their last on-field result being the victory over Nickerson. It marks their first victory since week 6 of the 2024 season, and ends a 19-game losing streak.
