Britt Dutton needed 38 points Friday to reach 2,000 career points as the Ellinwood Eagles travelled to Otis-Bison to take on the Cougars in Central Prairie league action. Dutton scored 43 and needed only three quarters to reach the rare high school milestone in a 89-33 victory over the Cougars.
Dutton scored 28 points in the first half, then added 15 in the third before head coach Derek Joiner took out the starters in the blowout victory.
Dutton now has 2007 career points and becomes just the 23rd boys player in Kansas basketball history to reach the 2,000 point total. With more games to play, the Senior now ranks 21st on the all time Kansas boys basketball scoring list.
