On Monday, Nov. 25 a manhole on McKinley Street at 22nd Street broke, causing a hazard in the roadway. The City of Great Bend has a contractor that will be replacing the manhole Tuesday, Nov. 26.
For the safety of the crew working and the safety of traffic, the city will have the intersection completely closed at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Please be aware of the need to avoid or reroute around the area. The city is planning for work to take one day and after the repairs are made McKinley will be down to one lane at that intersection for the next five days to allow for the curing of the concrete.
Please be attentive and aware as city crews work to make repairs in the area.
