
On Wednesday, Jan. 8, Great Bend Police Department detectives began investigating a report of a burglary that occurred in the 300 block of 3rd Street in Great Bend. During the investigation, it was discovered that video captured a vehicle and trailer occupied by two males who were observed taking items from the residence.
A Great Bend Police detective observed the trailer that was used to transport the stolen items parked in an alley behind an address in the 1400 block of 21st Street. The detective later observed the vehicle that was captured on video parked in front of the residence on 21st Street.
On Thursday, Jan. 9, officers and detectives executed a search warrant at the residence on 21st Street and recovered items that were stolen during the burglary. Illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia were also located at the time the search warrant was executed and will be sent to the Barton County Attorney for review and potential charges. The recovered property was returned to the owner.
Luis A. Sepulveda-Zubiate, age 26, was at the residence when officers arrived and was arrested and charged with burglary. A second resident, Luis C. Sepulveda, age 60, arrived on scene while the search warrant was being executed. He was also arrested and charged with burglary. Both suspects were booked into the Barton County Jail in lieu of bond.
