A unified, welcoming effort for any motorist driving into or around Great Bend is taking another step forward. New wayfinding signs throughout town will replace old signage. Wayfinding signs include smaller signage for identification, direction and information throughout the city.
Great Bend
Convention & Visitors Bureau Director Christina Hayes said funds have been
set aside to update 13 signs.
"Next step is deciding what will be said on each sign because they're not all the same," said Hayes. "Since they're in different areas of the community, they'll promote different attractions and points of interest."
The wayfinding signs, along the streets, will have a similar look as the two
welcome signs on U.S. 281 Highway and U.S. 56 Highway.
Once the CVB completes the wayfinding signs project, the organization will
focus on finding funds for more entrance signs along the other main corridors.
