The Barton Community College women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak against Dodge City Community College to 17 consecutive matches Sunday afternoon, battling the nationally vote-receiving Conquistadors to a scoreless draw in KJCCC action at Dodge City.
The result also marked Barton's 12th consecutive unbeaten outing in Dodge City as the Cougars remain undefeated on the season at 2-0-5 overall and 0-0-4 in conference play. Dodge City moves to 1-2-1 in league action and 4-2-1 overall.
Barton continues its road swing Wednesday with a 6:00 p.m. conference matchup at Seward County Community College.
Despite controlling much of the offensive opportunities, Barton was unable to break through against the Conquistadors. The Cougars held a 4-1 advantage in first-half shots and generated all three corner kicks, but neither squad managed to put an attempt on frame as the teams entered halftime scoreless.
The Cougars continued applying pressure after intermission, generating eight additional shots and putting four on target. Dodge City managed five second-half attempts, placing two on frame, but freshman Graciela Medina kept a clean sheet in her first collegiate start as Barton settled for its fourth consecutive conference draw.

Barton finished with a 12-6 advantage in total shots, including an 8-5 edge in the second half. The Cougars placed four attempts on frame compared to two for Dodge City while also holding a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks. Both teams were held without a shot on goal in the opening 45 minutes before combining for six attempts on target after halftime.
