
Great Bend Post Sports
The run continues for the Great Bend High School volleyball team. The Lady Panthers took a perfect 4-0 record into the Riley County Tournament bracket Saturday. Great Bend won its first three matches in two sets, extending that streak to seven matches to open the season. The Lady Panthers battled Jefferson County North for a 25-23, 23-25, 25-22 win in the semifinal match, then defeated Clay Center 25-18, 28-26 for the title.
Great Bend opened play with a 25-17, 25-15 win against St. Marys. Next came a 25-19, 25-16 win against Valley Heights. The Lady Panthers also defeated Wichita Independent 25-14, 25-10.
The Lady Panthers bring a 9-0 record into their first home matches of the season on Tuesday.
