Woman arrested in Great Bend for drugs, introduction of contraband

On Tuesday, Feb. 11 at approximately 3:59 p.m., a detective from the Great Bend Police Department observed a white passenger vehicle commit a traffic violation at the intersection of 21st Street and Lincoln Street. The detective conducted a traffic stop, identifying the driver to be Brittney Collins, age 36.

During the course of the stop, the driver consented to a search of her vehicle. During the search, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located.

Collins was transported to the Barton County Jail. When entry was made inside of the facility, additional methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located upon Collins. She was booked for the charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, no drug tax stamp, introduction of contraband and traffic charges, in lieu of bond.

This case is still under investigation.
