Great Bend Panther Baseball celebrated a phenomenal year in the final season of head coach Randy Beck's tenure, making a postseason run to the state title game, and the postseason honors are beginning to roll in.

Among those being celebrated in the Spring window are Panther senior starting pitcher and outfielder Carson Umphres, who has been named WAC Player of the Year. Umphres logged an excellent season on the mound, finishing with a 7-2 record along with an ERA of 1.67. At the plate, he hit for a .450 average with five homers and 31 RBIs.

Umphres is committed to continue his college baseball career at Northeast Texas Community College, and is spending his summer as a member of the Great Bend Bat Cats.

Other Panther honorees on the All-WAC team are senior Daxton Minton, and juniors Ian Premer and Koehn Ribordi.

Members of the second team were senior Hunter Herrman and junior Trenton Kern.
