Pink-Out night is always bigger than volleyball. But winning makes the night even more special. The Lady Panthers opened the night with a 25-20, 25-19 win over Campus. After an impressive second set against Goddard-Eisenhower, Great Bend dropped that match 25-16, 16-25, 25-13.
No. 9 Eisenhower entered the night at 19-7 and handled Great Bend in the first set. The Lady Panthers pulled ahead 7-5 early in the second set and led most of the way, using an 11-6 run to force a third set. Eisenhower scored the first three points in that decisive set, never trailing, and leading 16-5 at one point.
Great Bend entered the night sitting in the No. 8 spot in the Class 5A west substate, in a tight battle with five other teams hovering above the .500 mark. The Lady Panthers stay home Thursday for a match against top-ranked Hillsboro (2A).
