Two arrests after search warrant on Elm Street in Hoisington

On Wednesday, Nov. 6, at about 10 a.m., Barton County Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives executed a search warrant at 414 N. Elm Street in Hoisington. The Sheriff’s Office was looking for Richard Kerns, age 65, who is a registered drug offender from Russell County and failed to notify Barton County officials he was living here.

Upon entry into the residence, deputies located Kerns and placed him under arrest. During the course of the incident, detectives discovered suspected methamphetamine inside the house. Also arrested at the scene was Bev Driscoll, age 66 of Hoisington.

Both Driscoll and Kerns are being held on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine. Kerns is also charged with failing to register as a drug offender in the local jurisdiction. Both are being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.

Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hoisington Police Department.
