Garfield - Ronald Dee Bird, 89, passed away February 17, 2021 at Aldersgate Village Retirement Community, Topeka, Kansas.
Ron was born on November 19, 1931 to George W. and Ethel (Furbeck) Bird, Larned, Kansas.
On May 24, 1953 he married Edith Jane Roberson in Larned; she preceded him in death on September 28, 2019.
He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda (Bob) Wilson and Janet (Dan) Golightley of Topeka and Janell (Jim) Vineyard of Wichita, brother Gerald (Gloria) Bird of Radford, VA, eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, wife Edith Jane Bird, sister Marjorie Barnes, and granddaughter Heather Barrows.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned with Pastor Damon Bradley presiding. Service will be viewable via Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2021 with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Garfield Cemetery, Garfield.
