Peggy Sharon Johnson, 80, passed away October 8, 2024, surrounded by loved ones at Harry Hynes Hospice Center, Wichita, Kansas. She was born on July 5, 1944, in Vernon, Texas, to William and Christine (Hicks) Temple. On April 28, 1962, she married David Michael Johnson in Borger, Texas. He passed away on October 30, 2014.
A resident of Great Bend since 1975, Peggy worked as a homemaker and assisted with the family business, M & M Equipment. She was a member of First Christian Church and enjoyed spending her time landscaping and working in her flower beds.
Survivors include son Mike Johnson and wife Linda of Great Bend; two grandsons, Chad Johnson of Wichita and Kyle Johnson of Casper, Wyoming; two brothers, Rex Temple and wife Debbie of Odessa, Texas, and Dearl Temple of Rio Hondo, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Funeral service take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Reverend Joshue Leu presiding. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2024, at Bryant Funeral Home, with family receiving guests from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Memorials have been designated to the Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
