The Great Bend Lady Panthers knew they had to win one game in their double header with TMP Friday to make the field for next week's 5A Regional Tournament. They took care of that chore in the first game of the twin bill at the Great Bend Sports Complex.
Great Bend beat the Monarchs 14-7 in game one to secure a spot in the tournament field before dropping game two 4-2.
With the victory, the Lady Panthers finish the season with a record of 3-17 and will face unbeaten Bishop Carroll (20-0) Tuesday in Wichita. The game time will be announced with the release of the 5A bracket Saturday.
TMP (11-9) is the #3 seed in the 3A Regional that they are hosting next week. The Monarchs host Colby (7-11) in a quarterfinal game in Hays on Monday.
