The Barton County Commission called it a win-win. Dereck Hollingshead, the county's information technology director, approached the board Tuesday morning for approval on the replacement of several county computers. The board voted 4-0 to approve the $30,585 purchase from Great Bend's Bauer Computers.
"About this time every year, I reach out to all the department heads and we review all the computers in each of their departments, and we review how many computers they want to replace," Hollingshead said. "Once we have that number figured out, we then go out for bid."
This year, the county will replace eight desktop units, two two-in-ones, several docks, and several Surface computers. Hollingshead was pleased to have multiple bids and the commission was pleased to accept the low bid from Bauer, which was also the local bid.
