The Barton Community College Board of Trustees welcomed one new member and two re-elected members Tuesday afternoon. With a voter turnout of just over 21% this past November, citizens elected Carl Helm, John Mosier and Don Learned to the six-member board.

Trustee Gary Burke welcomed Mosier and Learned back and newcomer Helm.

"Between John and Don, they have over 30 years of experience on the board," said Burke. "I've known Carl since we were kids. I've never known him to be anything except a very good person. Welcome, Carl."

The three members were sworn into office by Barton County Clerk Bev Schmeidler.

Helm, Mosier and Learned join Burke, Mike Johnson and Cole Schwarz on the board.

Three positions on the board come up for election every two years. Each trustee serves a four-year term and must be a Barton County resident.
