Fire marshal determines cause of fatal house fire in Pratt

PRATT —A  man died in a house fire in Pratt on Monday.

Just after 2:30p.m. crews were dispatched to a house fire in the 700 block of W. 3rd Street in Pratt, according to a media release.

First responders reported a woman and her two children escaped the fire and had non-life-threatening injuries. One person was still inside the home. Firefighters from the city of Pratt were able to get the 38-year-old man out of the house. He later died of his injuries.   

The State Fire Marshal's office sent two special agents to investigate. The cause of the fire was determined an accidental electrical fire.

Just after 3 p.m., crews responded to a residence in the 700 block of W. 3rd Street, according to a media release. First responders reported that a woman and  two children were outside the residence with minor injuries. A man was still inside the home. Firefighters removed him from the residence but he later died of his injuries.    

The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. Two Special Agents assisted in the investigation, according to Lance Feyh with the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

Authorities have not released the name of the man who died or cause of death.
