The master vehicle replacement plan for 2025 for the Great Bend Police Department includes the replacement of four patrol vehicles. GBPD contacted Marmie Ford in Great Bend and Superior Emergency Response Vehicles in Andover to receive quotes for the Ford Interceptors.
Police Chief Steve Haulmark said Marmie Ford provided the low bid of $48,000 per vehicle. The Police Department will still make use of Superior Emergency Response Vehicles for the upfitting.
"Based on the quotes, the price per vehicle, including the upfitting, will be $53,787," said Haulmark. "The total will be $215,148 for the four vehicles. We currently have $190,000 allocated in our budget for vehicle replacement. These funds, combined with the trade-in, will provide us with an overage and ample money to pay for these four vehicles."
Marmie Ford offered the Police Department $38,500 for the trade-in of the four older vehicles.
The Great Bend City Council approved the purchase with a 6-0 vote.
