Great Bend Post
More exercise. A better diet. Both are popular New Year's resolutions, but what about more kindness? Treacyn Williams, a fifth grader at Eisenhower Elementary in Great Bend, knows that kindness can come in little ways. He recently received a giant $100 check from OPI & Golden Belt Printing as the latest winner in Eagle Media's Make A Difference Contest.
"I can make a difference by telling someone have a nice day," Treacyn said.
All Barton County students, grades K-6, are eligible for the Make a Difference Contest, which will run for the duration of the 2025-26 school year. As a weekly winner, Treacyn and his teacher, Mrs. Maneth, are now eligible for the monthly prize. That lucky student will win another $100 and a book bag filled with goodies from other contest sponsors, and her teacher will also receive $100.
The Make a Difference contest, presented by OPI & Golden Belt Printing, is sponsored in part by Big Ben Custom Engraving, Freedom Claims Management, Great Bend Redi Mix, Francis Financial, Medical Park Pharmacy, R&R Roofing, Allstaff Chartered, Miller Plastics, Rosencrantz Bemis Water Well Service, Great Bend Rec, Jimlo Glass Center, Haz Mat Response, & Scooter's Coffee.
