Brent Moss of the top ranked Barton Community College men's basketball team has been named the KJCCC's Week 3 Player of the Week.
Moss averaged a 14.3 point, 10.7 rebound double-double week leading the Cougars to a trio of victories last week including a pair in the Best Western/Cougar Booster Club Basketball Classic.
Opening the week, Moss was effective on the glass helping the Cougars to a plus-five edge on the boards with a game high 13 rebounds including seven on the offensive side while adding six points and dishing out four assists in the 93-74 victory over North Platte Community College.
The sophomore delivered a pair of career highs to kick off the Best Western/Cougar Booster Club Basketball Classic dropping 27 points on 52.9-percent shooting with 15 rebounds none bigger than securing the rebound on NOC-Enid's go ahead shot attempt with 1:24 left helping Barton squeeze out a 75-72 win over the Jets.
Moss concluded the weekend with 10 points and four rebounds in just 17-minutes of court time in the Cougars 96-53 route over Harry S. Truman College.
Receiving the top spot in Monday's week two NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Poll, the Cougars will turn their focus to the rugged KJCCC slate beginning Wednesday in hosting the Blue Dragons of Hutchinson Community College in a 7:30 p.m. tip-off before hitting the road Saturday for a 4:00 p.m. road contest against Garden City Community College.
