Healthy drinks are all the rage. But sometimes, people just like to indulge in the sweeter stuff. A new business in Great Bend is offering both. Crazy 8 Nutrition opened its doors last week at 3812 10th Street. Owner Shayna Campbell says there's something for everyone in their drinks.

"We are incorporating real fruit," she said. "We've got some animal cracker, graham cracker, Fruity Pebble cereal add-ins, things like that. We're not just for the health nut. We're for those kids that want those fancy shakes and smoothies."

Campbell and company set up shop in the building between Chosen Wok and Re-Bath and named it after a household of eight crazy kids. Shayna's husband, Aaron, remodeled the interior of the shop with the goal of someday serving food. For now, a small cafe is available for anyone wanting to have a seat and enjoy their drink.

"It was an empty shell," Campbell said. "We've built a bar, we've put some cabinets in. We've got it pretty much ready for food-grade. We're not doing a lunch menu yet. There are still things I have to do in order to be able to sell food."

Along with energizing teas and meal-replacement shakes, Campbell eventually plans to have soup options and a high-protein breakfast menu with waffles and pancakes. The shop also carries essential oils, prebiotic drinks, and other health products. Campbell also wants to become the second establishment in Great Bend to carry Boba pearls.

"Chosen Wok is the only one in town that has them right now," she said. "I love them so much that I want to be able them whenever I want."

Crazy 8 Nutrition is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Campbell hopes to expand the weekday hours to earlier in the morning as she finds staff.
