
On Sunday, June 15, at approximately 11:03 p.m., an officer with the Great Bend Police Department and a deputy with the Barton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 400 block of Plum Street in an effort to locate Yolanda Ortiz, a 36-year-old female, who was wanted for outstanding warrants.
Ortiz had an active warrant from Sedgwick County for aggravated battery, as well as a probation violation warrant out of Barton County.
Upon arrival, officers were granted entry into the residence, where they located Ortiz in a bedroom. As officers were taking her into custody, they observed narcotics and related items in plain view.
The residence was immediately secured, and a search warrant was obtained. Upon execution of the search warrant, officers recovered additional evidence related to narcotics.
Ortiz was transported and booked into the Barton County Jail for the felony warrants, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no drug tax stamp in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
