After a 40-year career in parks and recreation, former Great Bend Recreation Commission Director Diann Henderson will be inducted into the Kansas Recreation and Parks Association Hall of Fame. Henderson began working with the Great Bend Rec in 1982 and served as the director for 16 years until her retirement in 2022.

She will be honored with her Hall of Fame induction on Jan. 28, 2024 in Manhattan at the KRPA State Conference.

"I appreciate everyone," said Henderson. "No one does this work alone. It takes everyone to work together to accomplish big things. I appreciate the board's support and staff's support over the years. It was fun. It was a great journey."
