5. Recommendation from Administrative Review Committee on request from Fuller Industries, Inc. for 10-year tax exemption
In 2013, Fuller Industries was granted a 10-year property tax exemption but terminated in 2021 after the property was sold to new owners. The new owners filed for another 10-year exemption in 2024. The Administrative Review Committee recommends the request be denied.
6. DC Real Estate - option to purchase
DC Real Estate Holdings, LLC is the owner of Golden Belt Cinema 6, located at 1222 Kansas. The industrial revenue bonds, originally issued by the City of Great Bend in 2011, with an initial amount of $2,500,000, reached their final maturity on Dec. 31, 2023. The tenant now has the option to purchase the property from the City of Great Bend.
7. SRO / D.A.R.E. vehicle replacement
The Great Bend Police Department vehicle replacement for 2025 includes replacement of one of the vehicles assigned to a School Resource / D.A.R.E. officer. A motion will be presented to approve the bid from Marmie Ford for a new vehicle in the amount of $55,000 and authorization for equipping the vehicle from SERV in an amount not to exceed $12,000 for a total cost of $67,000.
8. Dragstrip rebuild design contract
After settlement from the SRCA Dragstrip lawsuit, the City of Great Bend wishes to move forward with design for the rebuild of the track. A motion will be presented to authorize the mayor to sign the contract with Barlett & West for the rebuild design in the amount of $55,000.
