Neuman closes Barton wrestling season at NJCAA National Tournament

The Barton Community College wrestling team had its season end after two rounds Friday afternoon at the 2024 NJCAA National Championships held inside the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Representing the Cougars at the national meet would be lone and first-time national qualifier Charles Neuman (165 pounds).

Facing a tall task drawing 13th seeded Cole Pfeufer of Bergen in the round of 32 following an opening round bye, Neuman's first turn on the big stage resulted in suffering an 11-3 major decision bouncing the freshman to the consolation side.

Trying to keep the season alive in the consolation round of 16, Neuman's freshman campaign would end dropping a 14-1 major decision to Caleb Marx of Snow College concluding his season at 3-7 overall.

165 Division – CJ Neuman (3-7) placed 5th and scored 13.0 team points.
