On March 5 at about 10 a.m. Barton County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed a search warrant at 161 SW 10th Avenue, just south of the City of Great Bend. Deputies had obtained information that drugs were present in the residence.
Upon entry, deputies contacted Rick E Novotny, age 67. Novotny lives at that location. He was detained and a search was conducted. Further investigation revealed suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia as well as firearms.
Novotny was arrested and booked on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and criminal possession of firearms. He was transported to the Barton County jail without incident. Novotny has since posted a $50,000 bond and was released.
