Around 12:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, a press release was sent out from the City of Great Bend notifying citizens of possible low water pressure in a residential area. The Public Works Department informed residents of the service interruption around the area of the 5200 block of Eisenhower.
Public Works Director Jason Cauley said an issue arose that needed a shutdown to the water gates.
"We had a minor repair turn into a major repair," said Cauley. "We were replacing a service line. The piece that connects the water line to the main broke off. Crews shut down the main to get that fixed."
By 1:45 p.m. Monday, the Public Works Department reported the problem was fixed.
