Bonnie Jean Peacock, age 63 years, of Great Bend, passed away early on Wednesday morning, July 13, 2022, at her home in Great Bend. Bonnie was born on Jan. 31, 1959 in Hays, to Norman and Richie (Mallory) Gordon, and she grew up in WaKeeney until she was in the seventh grade, at which time the family moved to Goodland. Bonnie graduated from Goodland High School in 1977 and then attended Northwest Kansas Area Vocational-Technical School for two years, where she earned a degree in Cosmetology. She was united in marriage to Randall D. Peacock on Aug. 18, 1980, in Norfolk, Va. The couple moved to Great Bend in 1991, and Bonnie worked as a Food Service Employee for USD 428 at Park Elementary School in Great Bend for 21 years until her retirement in 2021. Bonnie enjoyed cooking, going to yard sales, and thoroughly loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Randall D. Peacock of Great Bend; three sons: Randall Painter of Chesterton, Md., Daniel (& Shannon) Peacock of Mt. Vernon, Wash., and Nathaniel (& Beth) Peacock of Wichita; six grandchildren: Kitt Olzewski, Gunnar Peacock, Joel Painter, Kalli Peacock, Bentley Peacock, and Conner Peacock; three brothers: Don Gordon of Hoisington, Norman (& Nita) Gordon of Temple, Ga., and Richard (& Lora) Gordon of Salina; one sister, Laurel (& Jimmy) Sullivan of Flat Rock, Ala.; and nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Charter Funerals in Great Bend, with cremation to follow. The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
