Lenora Margaret (Budig) Hutton, 93, passed away Dec. 10, 2024, in Great Bend. She was born May 24, 1931, in Red Wing to Anton and Eleanor (Mauler) Budig.
Lenora married Herbert M. Byerly Aug. 6, 1951, in Stockton. He passed May 2, 1961. She married William C. Hutton in 1965, in Lacrosse. They later divorced. Lenora was a hard worker and devoted to providing for her family. She served the community as a reserve for the Great Bend Police Department, a compassionate home caregiver for Sunflower Diversified, provided her culinary skills cooking at the V.F.W., and worked at Fuller Brush as a machine operator.
Throughout her life, Lenora devoted her life to church, family, and community. She attended Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, was an Altar Society member, and Daughters of Isabella member. She enjoyed quilting, coaching youth basketball teams, volunteering her free time to traveling along with the Argonne Rebels and providing meals, being a den mother, and spending time with her family, who will miss her immensely.
Survivors include her two daughters, Tracy M. Roat (David) of Great Bend, Stacy M. Dinicola (David) of Rose Hill; four sons, Donald L. Byerly (Mary Gregg) of Wichita, Glen A. Byerly (Betty) of Raymore, Mo., Gerald A. Byerly (Jaqueta) of Enid, Okla., James M. Byerly of Mulvane; step-daughters, Vicki St. Claire, Joleen Hutton, Janiece Cook; sisters Katherine “Blondie” McGrath of Pleasant Hills, Calif., Beatrice “Bea” Axman of Olmitz; 15 grandchildren, Crystal, Kimberly, Allen, Sara, Patricia, Crista, Christopher, Arthur, Zachary, Peter, Tyler, Alexander, Kristin, Doris, Trenton; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and a host of additional relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert M. Byerly; sons Terry E. Byerly, Richard E. Byerly; brothers, Arthur Budig, Richard Budig, Bernard Budig, Eugene Budig; sisters, Irene Sanders, Helen Stos, and Esther Saling.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 16, 2024, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Father Aneesh Parappanattu presiding. Interment will follow at St. Ann Cemetery in Olmitz. Visitation will be held at Bryant Funeral Home from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, with an Altar Society Rosary held at 4 p.m., and a Daughters of Isabella Rosary and Vigil at 7 p.m. Memorials have been designated to the Prince of Peace Parish, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
