RUSSELL COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just before 7p.m. Saturday in Russell County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Phillip K. Otten, 25, Luray, was southbound on U.S. 281 one mile south of Russell. Otten fell asleep.
The SUV crossed the center line and collided with a northbound 2015 Toyota 4Runner driven by Melody A. Johnston, 47, Great Bend.
EMS transported Johnston to the Russell Regional Hospital. Otten was not transported for treatment. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
