They are called fall sports, but with temperatures hovering around the century mark even into the evening for the first week of September, it feels a lot like summer sports. Great Bend High School has made several scheduling changes to combat the heat.

The varsity football game with Scott City on Friday, Sept. 4 has been moved back half an hour for a 7:30 p.m. kick.

The girls' golf event scheduled for Monday, Aug. 31 in Hays was rescheduled to Monday, Sept. 28 at 1 p.m.

The start time of Thursday's varsity tennis tournament in McPherson has been moved back to 8 a.m.

The Panther soccer teams are scheduled to play Tuesday and Thursday at the Cavanaugh Soccer Complex. All matches have been moved to 7:30 p.m. Junior varsity games will take place on the east field, and varsity games will take place on the center field.
