Downtown vibes. Food. Drinks. Free live music. Final Fridays on Forest in Great Bend has a lot of popular items on the checklist for a place to hang out with your coworkers, friends and family.
The outdoor event on Forest Avenue, between Main and Williams streets, lands on the last Friday of the month from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Great Bend Economic Development Director Sara Arnberger said the downtown event’s attendance reached 656 people last month.
"It's been exciting to see the community really support this event," said Arnberger. "We've seen a steady increase in attendance this year. To the community, thank you for always coming out. They are what makes the event possible."
The theme for the event on Aug. 30 is retro night. Three sponsors, including Eagle Media, are celebrating a milestone anniversary. The block party includes live music, food trucks, drinks and games for all ages.
