
On Sunday, July 3, at approximately 12:20 a.m., an officer with the Great Bend Police Department made a traffic stop in the 1500 block of 11th Street for expired registration.
The officer contacted the driver, Corey Peverley, age 44, who had a suspended driver's license. Additionally, there was no insurance for the vehicle.
Peverley was arrested for the traffic violations and the department's K9 officer was contacted to respond. K9 "Menta" made a positive alert on the vehicle which was then searched. During the search, officers located a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Peverley was taken to the Barton County Jail where he was booked on possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, no drug tax stamp, driving while suspended, expired registration and no proof of insurance.
