CADCA is excited to announce that 16 youth leaders from the Kansas Youth Prevention Action Council (KYPAC) were offered a scholarship to attend its 35th Annual National Leadership Forum, February 3-6, in National Harbor, MD. The conference featured training sessions and networking opportunities specifically tailored for youth, allowing them to connect with fellow youth leaders and engage in development opportunities directly related to their role on the Council.
KYPAC is composed of youth leaders from across the state who are committed to substance use prevention and mental health promotion. The Council is responsible for advising Youth Leaders in Kansas (YLinK) and Upstream Kansas, developing youth campaigns and toolboxes, and planning events for other youth leaders.
Representing Great Bend at Forum was Jasmine Figueroa, a dedicated member of KYPAC. She had the opportunity to attend training sessions focused on youth advocacy, leadership development, and substance misuse prevention strategies.

Upstream Kansas is led by CADCA with the sponsoring support of the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services, aimed at increasing opportunities for youth leadership in substance use prevention efforts across Kansas.
