Bolin named to prestigious ABCA/NJCAA Rawlings Gold Glove

Barton Community College sophomore outfielder Robby Bolin capped off a tremendous 2024 season on Wednesday earning a spot on the NJCAA Division I ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove team.

The Gold Glove award caps an impressive list of postseason awards for the sophomore from Topeka, Kansas. Bolin was also named second team NJCAA All-American as well as the Jayhawk West Most Valuable Player, first-team All-KJCCC West and Region VI selection, a Region VI Gold Glove recipient and most recently selected onto the USA NJCAA All-Star team.

Bolin is the first Cougar in program history to garner a national Gold Glove in the awards 17-year existence.

A mainstay in centerfield for all 62 games, Bolin fielded a perfect 1.000% with 125 putouts and four outfield assists.

Over his two-year career in the outfield, the sophomore finished with an impressive .987 defensive percentage in 120 games, committing just three errors with 221 putouts and five defensive assists.

Bolin was one of two Jayhawk Conference recipients with Gehrig Goldbeck of Kansas City Kansas also earning a selection at shortstop.

The University of Nebraska signee also had a solid offensive season for the Cougars.

Bolin's .464 batting average throughout the season was the fourth best in the NJCAA and sixth best single-season average in Barton baseball history.

Batting out of the leadoff spot, the sophomore scattered the program's single season most and country's fourth best 104 hits while holding the NJCAA's fifth highest .566 on-base percentage.

The sophomore accumulated 20 doubles, six triples, four home runs and 49 RBIs. Bolin sat atop the NJCAA and produced the program's second most 95 runs, walking 36 times, drawing 18 hit-by-pitches, with a team best 43 stolen bases in 47 attempts this season.
