The Barton County Sheriff's Office will conduct a concealed carry class from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Saturday March 29th at the Sheriff's Office Training Facility, 396 Northeast 30 Road east of the Great Bend landfill. The class is a prerequisite for obtaining a state-issued concealed carry handgun permit. Even though permits are no longer required, citizens are strongly encouraged to take the class. Enrollment is limited. Cost is $50 per person, participants must be 18 years of age or older and provide their own handgun and ammunition.
