
Faye Lois Hunt, 89, passed away March 1, 2025, at Sunshine Meadows in Buhler, Kansas. She was born December 30, 1935, in Osborne, to Kenneth & Lottie (Kirby) Gilmore.
Faye married Ray Muth December 19, 1949. He passed away March 23, 1998. During their union, they owned and operated Muth Salvage. She then married Arther Hunt December 28, 2014, in Hoisington. He died September 17, 2015.
Faye took employment as a pilot car for Marlette Homes, hauled hay, and drove truck for Jack B. Kelley. Most recently, she worked for Walmart, in the fabric department for 16 years. There was not much Faye could not do when she self taught how to work with electrical, plumbing, and doing her own mechanics. She was a talented seamstress, loved to knit, and crochet. She enjoyed maintaining her own lawn until she moved to Sunshine Meadows.
Survivors include sons, Jimmy Muth and his wife Cheryl of Eureka Springs, Mo., Tony Muth and his wife Sandy of Great Bend, Steve Muth and his wife Cozetta of Ridgedale, Mo.; daughters, Lynn Muth-Tammen and significant other Kevin Burton of Great Bend, Rhonda Nuss and her husband Scott of Kimberling City, Mo.; and nearly 80 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Muth; husband, Arther Hunt, daughter, Cheryl Crain; brothers, Dale Gilmore, Bob Gilmore, Max Gilmore, and Ernie Gilmore.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2025, at Bryant Funeral Home with Chaplain Chuck Carpenter presiding. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Chase. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2025, with family receiving guests from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials have been designated to Sunshine Meadows Nursing Home, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
