Fred R. Lovesee, 85, completed his Earthly journey Oct. 21, 2022, at his home in Larned.
He was born Jan. 6, 1937. in Joplin, Mo. He was the fifth child of eight born to Thomas and Frances (Birkner) Lovesee. He was raised in Miami, Okla. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers and sisters.
After serving in the United States Air Force, Fred moved to Hoisington, where he met and married his wife of 60 years, Sharon (Novotny), on June 30, 1962.
Planting his roots, Fred became a lifelong area resident. He was an entrepreneur and founded many of the small-town pizza places in the Barton, Stafford, and Edwards County region. In 1985, Fred and his family moved to Kinsley, where he established Romano’s Pizza.
Fred is survived by his wife, Sharon Lovesee. Additional survivors include: four sons, Steve Lovesee, Kinsley, Doug Lovesee, Larned, Ron (Kim) Lovesee, Larned, and Joel (Sonya) Lovesee, Leon; nine grandchildren, Andrew, Kayla, Paisley, Canvas, Torrance, Taytum, Tinley, Sam, and Levi; two siblings, sister, Ruby Smith and brother Tom Lovesee, both of Miami, Okla.
He is also survived by two of his beloved dogs, Lil Bit and Frisky.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, at Beckwith Mortuary in Larned with Pastor Chris Nord presiding.
A celebration of life will be at a later date at Ramono’s in Kinsley.
