Janet Lynn “Jan” Selfridge, 68, passed away September 19, 2022 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.
Janet was born September 17, 1954 in Larned, Kansas, the daughter of Claude and Cristina Carter Selfridge. She enjoyed growing up on the family farm northwest of Hanston where she attended school and graduated from Hanston High School in 1973.
A longtime Larned resident, she was a Licensed Mental Health Technician at Larned State Hospital for over 30 years. She loved to crochet and made many afghans for family and friends, she also enjoyed cross stitch and diamond art. She participated in Bike Across Kansas, biking one year and following Lee for two years. She loved her neighbors, her dog, Asher, and her cats: Goldie, Oreo, Runt, BT (Black Tail), Little Fluff, and Grease Spot.
Survivors include: Brother, Allen (DianaLynn) Selfridge, Hanston; sister, Lois (Bill) Price, Rozel; children, Charles Carroll, Salina, Cindy (Phil) Denning, Wichita, and Candi (Steve) Castillo, Boise, ID; nephew, Doug (Anne) Maxwell, Andale; nieces, Lori (Keith) Finney, Topeka, Beth (Jim) Blackwell, Aurora, Lana (Troy) Amspacker, Larned, Becki (Tim) Hubin, Weatherford, Oklahoma, Theresa (Butch) Irsik, Ingalls, Tyann (Brad) Burdette, Spearville; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Lee Carroll; sister, Karen (Leonard) Maxwell, and infant sister, Barbara Ann Selfridge.
Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2022 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Tonya Andrews presiding. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Beckwith Mortuary, with family present from 2-3:00 p.m. Inurnment will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
