Following the oath of office on Jan. 2, the Great Bend City Council searched to fill an open seat.
Rickee Maddox was appointed to one of the Ward 4 seats last August, but won a full, two-year term in last fall’s election, replacing Natalie Towns. With Maddox sliding over to the new two-year term, the council needed to fill Maddox’s vacant seat.
At the Monday, Feb. 5 meeting, a motion will be presented to approve the recommendation of the Mayor for the 4th Ward councilmember with a term ending January 2025. The city accepted applications at City Hall until the vacancy was filled.
The council meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
