For the 5th time since coming into existence in 2016, the Great Bend Bat Cats are headed to Wichita for the NBC World Series. The Tournament begins Thursday, July 23rd with all games played at Eck Stadium on the campus of Wichita State.
Pool play will run from July 23rd at 6PM to July 28th at 8:30, including the famous "Baseball 'Round the Clock" on Saturday and Sunday, with 11 games being played continuously over a span of 33 hours.
Great Bend is in a pool with the Santa Barbara Foresters, the BTL Hornets, and the Liberal Bee Jays. Game 1 against the Foresters will be played at 6PM Friday.
Other teams from the Jayhawk Collegiate Baseball League include the Junction City Brigade, who won the league, and the Hutchinson Monarchs, who finished in second, both one game ahead of Great Bend. Other teams from Kansas who qualified for the tournament include the BTL Hornets of the KC Collegiate Baseball League, and the Hays Larks and Liberal Bee Jays of the Rocky Mountain Baseball League.
