Paige Stacey and Mac Lindberg both qualified for state at the 5A Regional Tennis Tournament at Andover on Saturday. Stacey, the #4 seed, finished 4th. She beat Melissa Boland (Hays) in the first round 6-1, 6-1. She beat Leany Maldonado (Salina South) 6-2, 6-3 in the second round. She lost to #1 seed Mia Jaramillo (Andover) 0-6, 0-6 in the semifinals. She lost to Charlotte Norton (Goddard) 2-6, 0-6 in the third-place match.
Mac Lindberg, the #8 seed, finished 5th. She beat Gianna Herrera (Ark City) in the first round 6-0, 6-1. She lost to Mia Jaramillo (Andover) 0-6, 0-6 in the second round. She beat Leany Maldonado (Salina South) 6-1, 6-2 in the third round to clinch a state berth. She beat Layni Hagley (Hutchinson) 6-3, 6-0 in the 5th place match.
Brooklyn Reynolds and Baze Hogan lost their first match to O'Hara/Banninger (Salina Central) 2-6, 0-6. Beth Hammeke and Maddie Siefkes lost their first match to Banta/Brewer 2-6, 2-6.
Great Bend finished 3rd place as a team.
