The Barton Community College women's basketball team picked up a much-needed victory Saturday night protecting home court in a 72-60 over Pratt Community College.

Snapping a three-game slide, the Cougars improve to 2–4 in conference play and 4–8 overall, while the Beavers drop to 2–4 in the Jayhawk and 6–5 on the season.

Barton hits the road for its next contest on Tuesday with a 6:30 p.m. (CT) start at Fort Hays Tech Northwest in Goodland before closing out the fall slate on Saturday in a 2:00 p.m. tip hosting Garden City Community College.

Kodi Greer's early back-to-back three-pointers ignited Barton's offense as the Cougars grabbed a lead they would never relinquish, steadily building their margin for a fourth straight win in the series.

Mary Akinde led all players with her second career double-double, finishing with career highs of 21 points and 13 rebounds while adding two blocks.

Providing a major lift off the bench, Regina Donanu knocked down 9-of-10 free throws on her way to 19 points and a new career-best 8 assists.

Greer, who jump-started Barton early, connected on another triple in the second quarter and buried her fourth in the third to tie her career high, helping stretch the Cougar lead to its largest at 15 points with 7:43 remaining in the frame.

Pratt had two players in double figures, each grabbing 9 rebounds as Kalani Brock led with 19 points and Nela Charynek added 17 points.
